Iron

  1. basecoat model color dark rust.
  2. cover everything with metal color burnt iron.
  3. glaze shadows with a mix of dark rust and burnt iron. I used an airbrush but mostly just for speed.
  4. very dilute wash of army painter dark skin shade. About 4:1 medium/water to paint. Add a drop of gloss varnish, wick away any pools, and brush away from raised surfaces.
  5. very gentle bright silver drybrush to catch edges. I used mig drybrush light metal but any bright silver will do.
  6. glaze army painter dark skin shade, dark red tone, and dark blue tone into recesses. Just a subtle filter, not a wash.
  7. very small bright silver highlights to the sharpest edges. I used game color silver but any bright silver will do.
