- Prime with a light grey. I used Ghoul Grey iirc (primed this ages before starting painting so not 100% sure - any grey should be ok).
- Coat the metals with Thrash Metal .
Then, give them an overall wash with Basilicanum Grey . Freely wet your brush and remove some of the contrast paint towards the highlights of the armour, such as the top of the helmet and breastplate. - Basecoat the entire undersuit with Thunderhawk Blue . If you check reference material from the movies, this coloured fabric extends to the boots and gloves. Do 2 thin coats to avoid getting any on the armour.
Once dry, wash the fabric with a 1:1 mix of Drakenhof Nightshade and water or Lahmian Medium . - Use a dark brown, like Navy Blue to paint the outer helmet features.
- Coat the weapons and inner visor with Black Templar
- Mix some Sky Blue or equivalent into the previous Navy Blue , and use it to pick out the outer helmet features such as the circlet and visor front. Then, use some pure Sky Blue to do a few extreme highlights.
- Basecoat the leather holsters/belts/straps/etc with Doombull Brown .
Wash these areas with Reikland Fleshshade . - I based the model with Vallejo Dark Earth texture paste, covering the broken droid with some Vallejo Environments Rust Texture. The entire base was then covered with Basilicanum Grey , then I stabbed in a mix of pigment powder (GSW Burnt Umber and V Brown Iron Oxide), before sealing. Base rim was done with Corvus Black .
