My personal formula for painting Word Bearers Chaos Space Marines

Traitors Red: Armour and Cultist Clothes

  1. Prime the sinister lad with Chaos Black or any black primer of your choice.
  2. Basecoat the miniature with Gal Vorbak Red (I use an airbrush).
  3. Shade the miniature with Nuln Oil , if you have also basecoated the Grey Black or Gun Metal areas shade those as well.
  4. Drybrush/Layer highlight the armour's panels and hard edges with Word Bearers Red , focusing the drybrush on the high points.
  5. Finally, edge highlight the model with Wazdakka Red .

Ruined Cloth and Fabric

  1. Basecoat any cloth or fabric areas on the miniature with Mechanicus Standard Grey .
  2. Shade the areas with Nuln Oil .
  3. Highlight the model with Skavenblight Dinge
  4. And edge highlight with Stormvermin Fur .

For Eyes: Paint a small oval where the pupil will be with Warpstone Glow . Paint a smaller oval in the middle of this with Moot Green to make the iris. Finally paint a small slit with Abaddon Black to make the pupil.

For Eye Lenses: Paint majority of the raised area with Warpstone Glow . Add a dot of Moot Green to the inner side of the lense and finish with a dot of White Scar on the outer side.

  1. For Plasma: Drybrush the area and edges with Warpstone Glow and Moot Green .

Faces & Flesh

  1. There is a wide range of fleshy 'bits' on display in this army and so thus there are a few ways of tacklings them!
