Tyranid Paint Scheme

Base

  1. Apply Vallejo Fine White Pumice over the entire Base of the Miniature
  2. Using Superglue apply Mossy liberally all over the base
  3. Use Elmer's Glue to cover most of the Moss and parts of the base, using water when necessary to coat sections
  4. Base Coat of Dirt Spatter (Technical) the entire Base
  5. Apply Ork Flesh (Contrast) to the entire Base (small sections left with Dirt Spatter is fine
  6. Apply Jungle Green to Moss sections
  7. Apply Lustrian Undergrowth (Texture) sparsely across the Base
  8. Apply Camouflage Green sparsely across the Base
  9. Using Matt Black to Rim Base

!!! Do Not Proceed until Skin and Carapace is Ready for this Step !!!

  1. Apply Strong Tone (Wash) to Skin, Carapace and Base

Skin/Miscellaneous Body

  1. Base Coat of Snakebite Leather (Contrast) entire model, avoid Brain/Weapon sections

!!! Skin and Carapce Same Time !!!

  1. Apply Beasty Brown Highlights to all Skin
  2. Apply Fine Monster Brown Highlights to Skin
  3. Apply Base Coat of Hexed Lichen to Tongue
  4. Apply Base Coat of Skeleton Bone to Teeth
  5. Apply Fyreslayer Flesh (Contrast) at Tentacle/Long Tail ends

!!! Do Not Proceed until Carapace and Base is Ready for this Step !!!

  1. Apply Strong Tone (Wash) to Skin, Carapace and Base
  2. Apply Matt Black Layer to Talons
  3. Apply Skeleton Bone Highlight to Teeth
  4. Apply Mutant Hue Highlight to Tongue
  5. Apply Matt White to Eyes
  6. Larger Models Apply Fine Tip Red Pen to Eyes for Iris

Chitin

  1. Base Coat of Snakebite Leather (Contrast) all Skin and Carapace but, avoid Brain sections

!!! Skin and Carapce Same Time !!!

  1. Apply Oak Brown Layer to all Carapace
  2. Apply Blood Angels Red (Contrast) Layer to all Carapace
  3. Apply Barbarian Flesh to Skin Gaps

!!! Do Not Proceed until Skin and Base is Ready for this Step !!!

  1. Apply Strong Tone (Wash) to Skin, Carapace and Base
  2. Apply Strong Tone (Wash) to Furthest Inner Carapace sections
  3. Apply Vampire Red Feathering up 50-60% of each Carapace section
  4. Apply Pure Red Feathering up to 20-30% of each Carapace section
  5. Edge Carapace with Astorath Red to each Carapace section
  6. Apply Bloodletter (Glaze) to Carapace

Brain

  1. Base Coat of Asurmen Blue (Contrast) all Brain sections except tubes
  2. Base Coat of Aethermatic Blue (Contrast) all Tubing attached to Brains
  3. Apply very watered down Toxic Mist to Brain sections
  4. Apply Voidshield Blue Highlights to Brain
  5. Apply Guilliman Blue (Glaze) to all Brain Sections
  6. Apply Nihilakh Oxide (Technical) to Tubing

Barblauncher

  1. Base Coat of Kroxigor Scales (Contrast) the entire weapon
  2. Apply Leviadon Blue (Contrast) Layer to all Carapace
  3. Apply Ash Grey Layer to Details
  4. Apply Matt White Layer to Details
  5. Apply Voidshield Blue Hightlights to Skin
  6. Apply Viking Blue Edging to Carapace
  7. Apply Lamenters Yellow (Glaze) to Details
  8. Apply Ash Grey to Tip
