A fast and easy recipe for golden Custodes armor. It only uses 5 paints, and yields great results. I wasn't a big fan of how Games Workshop painted their Adeptus Custodes armor, so I based it a bit more off of the Forge World recipe.
If you want a more in-depth guide as to how I painted every part of the Custodian, check out my other guide.
I then overbrushed with Brass Scorpion . This is quite a heavy overbrush, almost like a basecoat.
Wash with Agrax Earthshade Gloss . I want my armor to be a bit more worn, which is why I use Agrax Earthshade Gloss rather than something like Reikland Fleshade. The gloss also helps preserve the shine of the gold.
After that is dry, I give the model a drybrush with Greedy Gold . This is different from the overbrush, and you're just looking to highlight.
After that, I did a second drybrush, albeit a lighter one, with Bright Gold
To give the model a brighter shine, I did a final drybrush with Runefang Steel . When I did this, I didn't completely clean my drybrush after the last pass with Bright Gold. I let a little bit of the gold pigment mix with the Runefang Steel when I was drybrushing it. This creates a rather pale gold.
And congratulations, your Custodian armor is done! Feel free to check out my other painting guides, like finishing the rest of the model.
