Skin

  1. I began by basecoating Dark Rust to give the green something interesting to build over.
  2. My recipe then has an awkward mix of 1:1:1 Balor Brown , Ogryn Camo & Medium Olive (Yes, specifically the air version. It's darker) Make sure to leave some of the Dark Rust showing underneath in the deepest recesses.
  3. I soft shaded the skin with a 1:1 mix of Reikland Fleshshade & Medium Olive I thin this with some Lahmian Medium to make it more transparent and subtler.
  4. I added an small amount of Nocturnal Red to the previous mix and add it to the darkest areas and recesses of the skin
  5. For the highlight I reaply the base highlight in step 2 but with a little less Medium Olive. Pretty much a 1:1:1 mix.
  6. The next couple of steps are the same thing. I progressivly add some Flayed One Flesh into the previous mix and highlight the skin mostly focusing on the highest areas of the skin. Especially around the facial features.

Skin Extras

  1. Now I make the skin a little more interesting by making the "thinner skin" redder. To do this I make a equal parts mix of Balor Brown , Ogryn Camo , Medium Olive & Asmodeus Red and thin this plenty using some Lahmian Medium and glaze it over the nose, elbows, knuckles, ears, lips and any scars. After this I darkened the lips a little more with a mix of 1:2 Asmodeus Red & Medium Olive
  2. I highlight the top part of the nose, lips, elbows and the scars with progressive amounts of Flayed One Flesh added to the Thin Skin glaze mix in the previous step.
  3. I added some thinned Stegadon Scale Green to the bottom eyelids.
  4. And then added a little Flayed One Flesh to the Stegadon as a highlight.

Tongue

  1. I painted all of the mouth inside and out, including the teeth with a single coat of Sword Hilt Burgundy A strong coat doesn't really matter here.
  2. I wash all of these areas with Drakenhof Nightshade straight from the pot.
  3. I then progressivly add Cadian Fleshtone to the Burgundy to highlight the tongue. I do this in small lines to add some visual interest.
  4. Then as it's far too pink and not very realistic, I add a filter over the tongue using a very thinned wash of Nocturnal Red

Teeth

  1. Instead of basing the teeth all over I paint in lines going from the root to the tip of the teeth making sure to leave a little of the burgundy in the root most parts. For this step I start with Baneblade Brown
  2. Then I add a little Bone White into the baneblade brown and try to add some thinner lines.
