Hints:
- If you want you can apply the pigments to the stones and metal parts as well. This will create a more natural look since the red sand also makes its way onto these parts.
- more into darker metal? No problem! Just use some Nuln Oil to darken everything down.

This guide is mostly based on the tutorial by SprayBlack Studios on YouTube with some minor variations.

  1. Prime the base with Chaos Black
  2. Base coat rocks with Mechanicus Standard Grey and metal with a mix of Leadbelcher and Abaddon Black (1:1)
  3. Apply Typhus Corrosion , let it dry and apply AK Interactive Rust Streaks onto the metal parts afterwards. Let it sit for around 30 minutes and use the reduction technique. Dry brush the metal parts with Leadbelcher and if necessary add more highlights with Ironbreaker
  4. Use Dawnstone to dry brush the remaining soil and the stones.
  5. Pigment time: Start with Vallejo Burnt Sienna and apply it all over the soil and gently brush it of afterwards.
  6. Next apply Vallejo Old Rust pigments in the same manner.
  7. Use any favorite pigment fixer of your choice to hold the pigments in place and wait until it's completely dry.
  8. Next we use Vallejo Old Rust again but this time more targeted on specific areas. For example the areas which caches more light from above.
  9. Use Pigment fixer again.
