This guide is a repository of more involved zombie skin painting recipes. When I want to spend a bit more time with a model, I will crack one of these out.

Grey Skin

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Rakarth Flesh and Pallid Wych Flesh .
  2. Mix Doombull Brown , Khorne Red and Abaddon Black , until you have a sufficiently "bloody colour". This is roughly an equal parts mix. Now add a small amount to your basemix and add some general shading. If you wanted a ratio, I would suggest about 1:2.
  3. Increase the ratio of 'basecoat' to 'blood colour', to around 1:2, and enhance the shading.
  4. Add a 1:1 mix of Incubi Darkness and White to your basemix and apply some highlights.
  5. Where you really want to add definition in the recesses, shade with some pure Doombull Brown , Khorne Red and Abaddon Black mix.

For areas that you really want to accentuate (like eye sockets) it is a good idea to mix some Incubi Darkness into the first shade. This is a good way of adding variety to the shading, when applied as glazes.

  1. Add highlights with Pallid Wych Flesh .
  2. Finish with small highlights of White .

Yellow-Green Skin

  1. Basecoat with 3:1 Ogryn Camo and Balor Brown .
  2. Mix the basecoat 1:1 with Ionrach Skin , then apply highlights to the skin.
  3. Now mix some of your basecoat 1:1 with Doombull Brown , then shade recesses with it. keep your paint thin and glaze wherever you can.
  4. For very deep recesses, shade with small amount of 1:1 Doombull Brown and Death Korps Drab .
  5. Apply fine highlights with Ionrach Skin .
  6. Selectively highlight with Deepkin Flesh .
  7. If you have any features you really want to accentuate, mix some White into your Deepkin Flesh and apply very small/specular highlights.

Green Skin

  1. Basecoat with Nurgling Green .
  2. Screamer Pink and Incubi Darkness , then 1 part Death Guard Green use for shading.
  3. Add Incubi Darkness to the previous mix, then use this colour to further enhance the shading.
  4. Highlight the skin with 1:1 Nurgling Green and Administratum Grey .
  5. Mix a little white into the previous colour, then add a few very small and specular highlights.
