  1. Prime with a light earth tone - Zandri Dust etc. I don't have an exact primer to recommend as my Jyur began as a failed airbrush experiment, so I just basecoated it over a vaguely Zandri-ish tone.
  2. Paint all the visible scales with Eclipse Grey
  3. Basecoat the fin-tips with Word Bearers Red
  4. Basecoat mouth/etc with Zandri Dust
  5. Wash the model with Basilicanum Grey (thinned 2:1 with Lahmian Medium + I added a few drops of Daler Rowney flow enhancer)
  6. Using an overbrush/drybrush motion, I then went back over the scales with Eclipse Grey , gradually adding Mechanicus Standard Grey , then further pushing the brightness with Baneblade Brown . By the end, the most extreme upper highlights of the mini (as well as the 'underbelly' modeled below) were about 1:1 MSG and BB.
  7. For a super quick highlight on the fins, I just lightly drybrushed them with a tiny bit of Squig Orange
  8. I painted the tongue Screamer Pink , then washed it (alongside the inner mouth that's still beige) with Carroburg Crimson
  9. For the eyes, coat them with Screaming Skull ; can also use this to drybrush the teeth
  10. Use an insane amount of Vallejo European heavy mud diorama paint to base the mini, and also coat the moulded mud fx. When it's dry, base rim in Corvus Black and a few lil Karak Stone drybrush marks on the mud
