Bone Armour

1. Prime the whole model with Wraithbone .
2. Basecoat all armour panels with Morghast Bone , it adds a bit more warmth to the piece.
3. Drybrush over the previously painted panels with a 1:1 mixture of Morghast Bone & Wraithbone where light would hit. Later on you will be edge highlighting with Wraithbone, this provides a more natural transition.
4. Rough recess shade with Skeleton Horde , neat but chunky. This will create a more gradual shading for the next step.
5. Apply a more detailed recess shade of Agrax Earthshade .
6. (It is at this point that I would consider painting the undersuit, as any mistakes or brush slips won't affect any detailed edge highlighting.)
7. Highlight all prominent edges of the armour using Wraithbone .
8. Finalise edge highlighting by selectively using a 1:1 mixture of Wraithbone & Corax White on the most exposed edges.

Optional steps: Armour Detailing

1. Decide on any fine details you want to pick out such as tubing or fixings, it helps to make these details consistent army wide.
2. Carefully paint each detail with Leadbelcher .
3. Using Agrax Earthshade you can pick out any detailed recesses or points where the lines meet.

On any senior soldiers certain details such as emblems on weapons, kneepads can be painted using the same steps as the Aquilla.

Undersuit

1. Apply a subtle wash of Agrax Earthshade where the armour and the suit meet, this will provide a bit of a transition between the colours.
2. Basecoat the suit with Abaddon Black .
3. Using quite a dry brush, highlight any edges with Eshin Grey .

Pauldrons

Follow the same steps for the armour panel as you did for the rest of the power armour.

1. Carefully paint the trim with Abaddon Black .
2. Highlight the outside edge with Eshin Grey .
3. Using Administratum Grey selectively highlight the most exposed edges.
4. Finish any major points of wear such as the corners with Leadbelcher .

Backpack

Aquilla/Chest Detail

1. Basecoat the detailing with Khorne Red .
2. Roughly pick up any highlights and details using a combination of layering and edging with Mephiston Red .
3. Selectively recess shade with Agrax Earthshade .

Helmet Lenses

1. Carefully apply Khorne Red to the whole eye.
2. Highlight the inner half of the eye with Mephiston Red .
3. (Optional) Finish with a small dot of Corax White in the outside corner.
