My recipe for Ironjaws Orruks.
Heavy use of contrast and washes/glazes. Batch painting recommended. Wet pallet recommended, but not required.

Orruk Skin

  1. Thin Plaguebearer Flesh with equal parts Contrast Medium and glaze all the skin, do not let it pool too harshly
  2. Thin Ork Flesh with equal parts Contrast Medium and glaze all the skin, do not let it pool too harshly
  3. OPTIONAL: Thin Magos Purple with 6 parts Contrast Medium and glaze over knees, elbows, knuckles, feet, ears, chin, brow ridge
  4. Varnish with a thin layer of Lahmian Medium to protect skin color. (Contrast paints tend to rub off if over handed)

Armor

  1. Heathy/heavy glaze of Casandora Yellow over all armor plates. Allow paint to pool in dents in armor but do not go overboard.
  2. Glaze armor again with Casandora Yellow to even out coverage and build a heavier yellow.
  3. Thin Skrag Brown to wash consistency and pin wash into armor recesses, around rivets and in gouges
  4. Edge highlight with thinned Dorn Yellow
  5. Extreme edge highlight with Screaming Skull
  6. Color accent armor plates with Stegadon Scale Green , two thin coats
  7. Edge highlight accent armor with

Chainmail and Blades

  1. Base with Leadbelcher or Iron Hands Steel
  2. Wash with Basilicanum Grey
  3. Drybrush with Necron Compound
