Base

  1. Prime in Wraithbone

Flesh

Skin

  1. You may have to go over the undercoat with another coat of Wraithbone
  2. Wash the skin with a 1:2 mix of Magos Purple and Contrast Medium . Be aware of pooling too heavily, but be liberal.
  3. Work your way around the with Screaming Skull , relayering over the skin but leaving the Contrast in the recesses. Watering down your paint more than usual will help to make an easier gradient from the shade.
  4. Highlight this with 1:1 Screaming Skull / Pallid Wych Flesh
  5. Add another mix to the current colour with Pallid Wych Flesh . Focus on hard muscles, edges and glazing where necessary to mimic where light falls on the skin
  6. Lastly do a 1:1 mix of on sharp edges with White Scar / Pallid Wych Flesh

Joints

  1. Wash with a 2:1 mix of Volupus Pink and Contrast Medium .
  2. Throw on a layer of Pink Horror to the higher up areas.
  3. Highlight these areas with a 1:1 mix of Pink Horror and Kislev Flesh . Thin this out to start building in a gradient.
  4. Add a further highlighting to all the joint areas now with more Kislev Flesh to the mix.
  5. Lastly, add Pallid Wych Flesh to the mix and do a last dot highlight to make the flesh look a bit shiny.

Carapace

  1. Mix 1:1 Abaddon Black / Naggaroth Night and block the carapace completely.
  2. With Xereus Purple , hightlight the edges and feather then heavily. Also, using a glaze version, highlight any raised 'bumps' in the carapace.
  3. Run Genestealer Purple along the purple edges and add fethered parts but in less frequency.
  4. Do further highlighting on these areas with Dechala Lilac . With a glaze, further hightlight the bumped areas.
  5. Do a spot highlight of Slaanesh Grey .

Details

Teeth

  1. Basecoat each tooth with Rakarth Flesh
  2. Shade the mouth with Agrax Earthshade
  3. Paint the front surfaces of the teeth with Ushabti Bone , leaving the shaded areas near the gums.
  4. Lightly pick out the tips and the front ridges with Screaming Skull
  5. Add a small amount of White Scar to the Screaming Skull and add a tiny dot on the sharpest tip. [On models with small teeth, this step isn't really needed]

  1. Paint the hooves and claws with Corvus Black

  1. Basecoat the area with Celestra Grey
  2. Next apply Coelia Greenshade directly from the pot to these areas. Apply heavily so as to bring out the raised areas.
