Pale Skin

  1. Basecoat with an equal parts mix of Daemonette Hide , Rakarth Flesh , Kislev Flesh and White .
  2. Mix the base colour 1:1 with Bugman's Glow , then glaze in some shading.
  3. Add some Naggaroth Night to the above mix and further define shading.
  4. Increase the amount of :white in the original base colour mix, then highlight. You might want to do this in a couple of passes, upping the amount of White further, and highlighting more selectively.
  5. Finish with a few small White highlights.

Bone

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Rakarth Flesh and Wraithbone .
  2. Shade with 1:1 Dryad Bark and Baneblade Brown . To make it more manageable, I like to thin the paint heavily with Contrast Medium and apply with a long thin brush.
  3. Further define recesses with a more selective shade of Dryad Bark . I pretty much just use this stage to separate different bones, ribs etc.
  4. Glaze highlights over all exposed areas with Ushabti Bone , to add some warmth.
  5. Highlight with Wraithbone .
  6. Finish with selective White highlights.

Black Cloth

  1. Basecoat with Black .
  2. Glaze everything but the recesses with 1:1 Black and Naggaroth Night .
  3. Mix the above colour 1:1 with Eshin Grey and highlight.
  4. Apply fine edge highlights of Stormvermin Fur .
  5. Highlight more selectively with 1:1 Stormvermin Fur and Administratum Grey .
  6. Add small highlights of Administratum Grey on curves and corners.
  7. Finish with a few specular highlights of 1:1 Administratum Grey and White .

Black leather

  1. Basecoat with Black .
  2. Highlight with Incubi Darkness .
  3. Apply fine highlights with 1:1 Incubi Darkness and Deepkin Flesh .
  4. Selectively highlight with Deepkin Flesh .
  5. Finish with specular highlights of 1:1 Deepkin Flesh and White .

Dark Brown Leather

  1. Basecoat the leather area with Rhinox Hide .
  2. Glaze most of the leather with thinned Mournfang Brown . Use quite a small brush and drag towards edges in rough lines. This should create some extra texture.
  3. Add a chunky edge highlight of Skrag Brown to all edges.
  4. Highlight everything again, this time with a fine line of Skrag Brown and Ushabti Bone mixed 1:1. This is a good mix to throw in occasional fine lines as scratches too.
  5. With pure Ushabti Bone , selectively highlight corners and exposed edges of the leather. Put a dot of this colour where the additional scratched above meet edges too.
  6. Add a little pure white (like Dead White ) to your Ushabti Bone and add dot highlights to corners.

Steel

  1. Basecoat with Leadbelcher .
  2. Wash with Nuln Oil .
  3. Highlight with Ironbreaker .
  4. Finish with selective highlights of Silver RLM01 Metallic .
  5. I used the same basic method for the axe of the greem armoured Chaos Warrior, but switched out the Gryph-charger Grey for some Agrax Earthshade . This was just to make the steel look dirtier.

Tarnished Gold

  1. Basecoat: Liberator Gold & Dryad Bark 1:1
Shade: Flesh Wash & Agrax Earthshade (or use Gor Grunta Fur)
Deep Shade: Rhinox Hide & Black 1:1
    Tidy: Liberator Gold
Highlight: Liberator Gold & Stormhost Silver
    Highlight: Stormhost Silver
Glaze: Casandora Yellow & Carroburg Crimson 2:1
