Recipe I use for my 15mm battlegroup soviet force based on one of the Jic's recipes which I modified a little bit.

Priming and Basecoating

  1. Prime model with black followed with a strong zenithal of white or gray - Vallejo 74.602 and Vallejo 74.601 in my case applied with airbrush
  2. Basecoat the entirety of the vehicle with Vallejo 73.608 US Olive Drab primer

Modulation

  1. Highlight with AMMO MIG 0083 Zachitniy Zeleno

- I usually modulate by creating gradients on large flat surfaces and highlighting the centers of panels hatches and other details - the goal is contrast which is crucial at this scale

  1. 2nd modulation highlight with AMMO MIG 0058 Light Green Khaki
  2. Edge highlight - Krieg Khaki

- I highlight all the sharp edges es well as details like hatches, rivets, seams etc - time consuming but worth it in my opinion

Wash

- at this moment the model will look pretty garish but that's intentional - an enamel wash and weathering will knock it a couple notches down. I also basecoat other parts such as vision devices tools and others at this point

  1. Varnish the entirety of the vehicle gloss

- Apply decals if applycable here

  1. Wash all the details, creases, seams and other points of interest with Mr. Hobby WC02 Ground Brown
  2. Wait for it to dry before wiping the excesses as usual with any enamel wash

- You are pretty much done you can proceed with other weathering you might like before applying matt varnish and finishing up the rest of the detailing on the vehicle
