I put this tutorial together while painting two variations of the Heavy Mechanised Infantry for New Antioch from Trench Crusade
Base coat Charred Brown
Stipple Camouflage Dark Green
Stipple using a sponge for the larger areas and a worn brush for the smaller areas.
Stipple Pale Green in smaller areas leaving edges
Pale Green
Cement Grey in smaller areas again. Use a brush to help define volumes with this step as your 'highlight' which are your most faded areas
Cement Grey
Add Dark Silver to edges and bolts/rivets sporadically. Include the power pack, exhaust stack and weapon if you wish.
Add Silver less so to edges and the chainmail
Silver
Using Newsh from Monument Hobbies and combinations of warm browns and oranges for weathering. Here I used Warm Brown and Hot Orange and Light Orange just randomly in mixed and mixed together in various ratios
Newsh weathering
Wash chainmail, weapon, and power pack with Dark Tone mixed 50/50 with Strong Tone
Wash chainmail, weapon with just Strong Tone
Weapon, Hammer. Dark Bronze and Silver with a 50/50 Army painter strong tone and dark tone wash. Highlight back up and add scratches.
Weapon cont.
Base, AK dark earth washed with 2 drops gloss varnish, 2 drops Dark Tone , 3 drops Strong Tone
Washed
Optionally, I used Vallejo water effects to ad some pooling and puddles. I formed some craters with AK Dark Earth before washing the bases.
