Classic Orc Skin

  1. Basecoat with Death Guard Green .
  2. Add some general shading using thinned Castellan Green .
  3. Enhance the above shading with a more selective application of Vulkan Green in deeper recesses.
  4. In breaks in the skin or where the skin meets other materials, add a fine line of 1:1 Vulkan Green and Rhinox Hide .
  5. Highlight with Ogryn Camo .
  6. Highlight more selectively with Krieg Khaki , aiming for curves and corners.
  7. Finish with a few very small/specular highlights using a mix of Krieg Khaki and White .

Modern Orc Skin

  1. Basecoat with a 1:1 mix of Skarsnik Green and Averland Sunset .
  2. Add a little Warp Lightning to the base mix and add some general shading to the recesses.
  3. Shade deep recesses with small amounts of thin Caliban Green .
  4. With an equal parts mix of Skarsnik Green , Averland Sunset and Zandri Dust , begin highlighting the skin.
  5. Mix in some Screaming Skull to the above mix and selectively highlight points.
  6. Finally add very small highlights of pure Screaming Skull to prominent points.

When the skin is done, I like to add a little warmth to fleshy areas by mixing appropriate colours into my penultimate highlight colour, glazing the areas and then re-highlighting. On Knuckles, noses, elbows and ear tips I add Kislev Flesh and on lips, I prefer a pink, like Screamer Pink . When highlighting, I just mix Pallid Wych Flesh into the glaze colour.
