I settled on a mix of classic and modern style skin recipes for these sculpts. The plan is to have a few that are unique to the goblins, and some that show their relation to their Orc bretheren. I think they turned out well.

Classic Goblin Skin

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Death Guard Green and Ogryn Camo .
  2. Shade with thin Castellan Green .
  3. Shade more carefully with Vulkan Green .
  4. If very deep or more hidden areas, shade selectively with 1:1 Vulkan Green and Rhinox Hide .
  5. Highlight with Ogryn Camo .
  6. Selectively highlight with Krieg Khaki .
  7. Mix some White into your Krieg Khaki and apply very small/specular highlights.

Modern Goblin Skin

When the skin is done, I like to add a little warmth to fleshy areas by mixing appropriate colours into my penultimate highlight colour, glazing the areas and then re highlighting. On Knuckes, noses, elbows and ear tips I add Kislev Flesh and on lips, I prefer a pink, like Screamer Pink . When highlighting, I just mix Pallid Wych Flesh into the glaze colour.

Red Eyes

  1. Basecoat with Khorne Red .
  2. Highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet .
  3. Highlight more selectively with Troll Slayer Orange in the centre of the eye.
  4. Finish with a specular highlight of Ice Yellow (or Dorn Yellow for Citadel purists.

Teeth

  1. Pick out teeth with Zandri Dust .
  2. Shade the teeth, either using thinned Rhinox Hide on large teeth or wash with a mix of Seraphim Sepia and Agrax Earthshade .
  3. Highlight with Ushabti Bone .
  4. More selectively highlight teeth with Screaming Skull .
  5. Add small highights with Wraithbone towards the tip.
  6. Add very small/specular highlights with White .

Black Cloth

  1. Basecoat with Black .
  2. Overbrush/highlight with Skavenblight Dinge .
  3. More selectively highlight with Stormvermin Fur .
  4. Add small highlights of Administratum Grey towards points and corners.
  5. Mix some White into your Administratum Grey and add specular highlights, where needed.

Dark Brown Cloth

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Rhinox Hide and Mournfang Brown .
  2. Shade recesses with a thin mix of 1:1 Rhinox Hide and Barak-Nar Burgundy .
  3. Highlight with a 1:1 mix of the base colour and Gorthor Brown .
  4. Selectively highlight with Gorthor Brown .
  5. Finish with small highlights of Baneblade Brown .

Wood

  1. Basecoat with 1:1 Dryad Bark & Mournfang Brown .
  2. Run some thin Dryad Bark into recesses. Don't worry about doing this on woodgrain, just deep recesses and where the wood meats other marterial.
  3. Highlight with a 1:1 mix of the base colour & Karak Stone .
  4. Selectively highlight with Karak Stone .
  5. Optionally, selectively edge highlight with 2:1 Karak Stone & Wraithbone if you want to go the extra mile.
