High contrast, popping Tyranids

Airbrushwork

1. Prime the miniature with Chaos Black and give it a 45 ° highlight with Wraithbone
2. Airbrush Black Templar at the edges of the harder looking chitin plates
3. Airbrush an equal mixture of Blue Green and Lahmian Medium at the middle of the harder looking chitin plates
4. Use Vampiric Purple from below and all over the more organic parts
5. Highlight the purple, more organic parts with Fluid Pink
6. Use :Vallejo Magenta Ink: to deepen specific organic parts and use it for black/blue/purple transitions

Brushwork

1. Use diluted mixtures of Ivory and the original airbrush-colors to highlight raised areas and give the model some depth and structure and use Druchii Violet to deepen some shadowed areas
2. Use Lime Green and diluted mixtures of Ivory and Lime Green to paint all the horns, claws, teeth and blobs.
3. I painted the eye-area with diluted White and tinted it with Transparent Orange as well as Transparent Red for the eyeballs/raised eye-structure
4. I used Bile Effect for some areas like the mouth, ore artillery blobs and alike

Base

1. Use a roughly 50:50 mixture of Black Templar and Basilicanum Grey paints to wash the whole base, except special metal/rusty parts. Here use Gore-grunta Fur and Ork Flesh for organic pools and organic craters.
2. Drybrush the grey/black parts of the base with Administratum Grey and Bronze for the brown parts. Highlight the green organic parts with Lime Green and add Bile Effect to your liking.
