A spin on the classic paint sheme
Skin and Scales
- Prime with Wraithbone
- Go over the soft skin with Ionrach Skin
- First shading layer with 1:4 Terradon Turquoise | Contrast Medium . This can go all over the model, since it's the lightest shade there is and it's fine for the lightest skin
- Go over the soft skin again with Ionrach Skin to create volumetric highlights on skin
- Go over the scales with a layer of 1:2 Terradon Turquoise | Contrast Medium
- Go over the hardest scales with pure Terradon Turquoise
- Paint the spikes on the spine and the closest scales with Incubi Darkness this also goes for the hardest part on the head
- Highlight the spine spikes and the darkest edges on the head with Sons of Horus Green
- Highlight the medium-soft skin with 1:2 Sons of Horus Green | Ionrach Skin
- Add another layer of volumetric highlights to soft skin with 1:1 Ionrach Skin | Wraithbone
- Edge highlight the edges of the soft skin with pure Wraithbone
Gold
- Basecoat with Skullcrusher Brass
- Pick out some areas with Gore-grunta Fur diluted slightly with water or medium to create "red gold" accents
- Cover the hilt of the weapon with diluted Cygor Brown for brownish gold details
- Go over all the gold with Seraphim Sepia
- Edge highlight the gold with Liberator Gold
- Dot highlight with 1:1 Liberator Gold | Stormhost Silver
Obsidian Weapons
- Basecoat with Black Legion
- Shade with Shyish Purple
- Drybrush with Russ Grey
- Edge highlight with Fenrisian Grey
Other Details
- Ropes are basecoated with Khorne Red and highlighted using Khorne Red | Wraithbone
- Where leather straps are used instead they're basecoated with Pink Horror and highlighted using Pink Horror | Wraithbone
- Mouth is painted with Volupus Pink with Pink Horror on the tongue
- Teeth are Wraithbone
