For this cloak I followed an excellent guide by ivan_k_art on Instagram, but I switched up the colours. Any praise for the method, should go to him exclusively.

  1. Basecoat the cloak with Rhinox Hide .
  2. Stipple Mournfang Brown in random patches evenly across the cloak.
  3. Stipple more patches, this time with Abaddon Black . Try and cover roughly the same amount of area.
  4. Small stippling patches of Tallarn Sand .
  5. Recess shade the cloak. I thinned Nuln Oil thinned 1:4 with Lahmian Medium and applied it as an all over wash. If the one you are painting isn't as small and detailed, you could use it straight and pop it straight into recesses.
  6. Gently drybrush and edge highlight with Tallarn Sand .
  7. Edge highlight the most prominent edges with Karak Stone . Small scratches are also good in this colour.
  8. Specular highlights with Wraithbone . Make these super small and selective, on the most exposed part of the edges and corners.
