How I paint my Eschers. Taken from the official GW Escher tutorial video with Duncan

  1. Base/Prime Mechanicus Standard Grey or any grey

Base Coats

  1. Base the armor breastplate in Averland Sunset
  2. Base the Boots, Tights, gloves, any leather around the armor, the jewel on the belt and gun in Abaddon Black
  3. Highlight the Boots in Dark Reaper
  4. Paint some metal details (sword/knife hilts, buckles) and the gem with Balthasar Gold
  5. Base the shoulder armor, barrel and magazine of the gun, sword, kneepads and other metal details in Leadbelcher
  6. Paint any leather straps and the stock of the gun in Doombull Brown
  7. Base any "furs" in XV-88
  8. Wash model in Nuln Oil

Highlights

  1. Highlight the yellow parts with Yriel Yellow
  2. Highlight "furs" with XV-88

Skin/Hair

  1. Base in Bugman's Glow
  2. Base Hair in Troll Slayer Orange or other similar bright neon color
  3. Shade those areas with Reikland Fleshshade (but if the hair wasn't painted in Troll Slayer orange a matching shade should be used there instead)
  4. Highlight Skin with Cadian Fleshtone
  5. Highlight skin once more with Kislev Flesh focusing on only the highest raised portions this time
  6. Highlight Hair with Fire Dragon Bright or similar matching neon layer color if other color was used

Edge Highlights

  1. Edge highlight the yellow once more with Flash Gitz Yellow
  2. Edge highlight the boots with Thunderhawk Blue
  3. Edge highlight metals with Sycorax Bronze or Stormhost Silver depending on if they were based in bronze or silver before
  4. cover Gem with Stormhost Silver to prepare it for the gemstone technical paint in later step
  5. Edge highlight leather straps and gun stock with Tuskgor Fur
  6. Edge Highlight any black details with Eshin Grey
  7. Edge highlight any furs with Tau Light Ochre
  8. Paint Gem using the Soulstone Blue technical paint or other technical gemstone paint if a different color is desired

Bonus step

  1. Paint a pattern on the "furs" using Abaddon Black to give "cheetah print" effect
