How I paint my Eschers. Taken from the official GW Escher tutorial video with Duncan
- Base/Prime Mechanicus Standard Grey or any grey
Base Coats
- Base the armor breastplate in Averland Sunset
- Base the Boots, Tights, gloves, any leather around the armor, the jewel on the belt and gun in Abaddon Black
- Highlight the Boots in Dark Reaper
- Paint some metal details (sword/knife hilts, buckles) and the gem with Balthasar Gold
- Base the shoulder armor, barrel and magazine of the gun, sword, kneepads and other metal details in Leadbelcher
- Paint any leather straps and the stock of the gun in Doombull Brown
- Base any "furs" in XV-88
- Wash model in Nuln Oil
Highlights
- Highlight the yellow parts with Yriel Yellow
- Highlight "furs" with XV-88
Skin/Hair
- Base in Bugman's Glow
- Base Hair in Troll Slayer Orange or other similar bright neon color
- Shade those areas with Reikland Fleshshade (but if the hair wasn't painted in Troll Slayer orange a matching shade should be used there instead)
- Highlight Skin with Cadian Fleshtone
- Highlight skin once more with Kislev Flesh focusing on only the highest raised portions this time
- Highlight Hair with Fire Dragon Bright or similar matching neon layer color if other color was used
Edge Highlights
- Edge highlight the yellow once more with Flash Gitz Yellow
- Edge highlight the boots with Thunderhawk Blue
- Edge highlight metals with Sycorax Bronze or Stormhost Silver depending on if they were based in bronze or silver before
- cover Gem with Stormhost Silver to prepare it for the gemstone technical paint in later step
- Edge highlight leather straps and gun stock with Tuskgor Fur
- Edge Highlight any black details with Eshin Grey
- Edge highlight any furs with Tau Light Ochre
- Paint Gem using the Soulstone Blue technical paint or other technical gemstone paint if a different color is desired
Bonus step
- Paint a pattern on the "furs" using Abaddon Black to give "cheetah print" effect
