Prep

  1. Prime the model with Leadbelcher and use Leadbelcher to even the coat and

Base Paints

  1. Base the areas that will be yellow with Mournfang Brown . Base Red areas in Mephiston Red . Base the black areas with Abaddon Black . Paint the rosettes with Screamer Pink and the Purity Seals with Rakarth Flesh Paint the eye lenses, any screens and Grenades with Caliban Green
  2. Paint several thin coats of Averland Sunset over the Mournfang Brown .

Wash areas with shading

  1. Pin wash the yellow with Agrax Earthshade in the recesses of the shoulder pads and over the whole chest crest. Pin wash the red knee pads and any Lieutenant helmets with Agrax Earthshade , and do a full wash over any red threads and Purity Seals. Wash the eye lenses, black parts and non armour Metals (Bolt Rifle etc) with Nuln Oil .

First Highlights

  1. Highlight the yellow with Screaming Skull . The red with Wild Rider Red Highlight the black with Mechanicus Standard Grey . Highlight the eye lenses, screens and grenades with Moot Green . Layer Rakarth Flesh back over the Purity Seals.

Second Highlights

  1. Do an extreme Highlight in corners of red with Fire Dragon Bright , and the Black with Administratum Grey Highlight the Purity Seals with Pallid Wych Flesh Put a spot of White Scar in the corners of eye lenses/screens.

Metal Armour

  1. Use Black Templar to pin wash all the metallic areas. Clean up any metallic areas with Leadbelcher
  2. Wash the Metallics with 50/50 mix of Nuln Oil and Nuln Oil Gloss .
  3. Highlight all the Metal areas (armour and non armour) with Stormhost Silver

Transfers

  1. Brush Ardcoat over the areas you will apply Transfers. Also apply to Lieutenant helmet.
  2. brush Micro Set on the areas for transfer, cut transfer out and dip in Micro Set. Apply to area and use brush to move around to correct position. Wash and dry brush, then use to soak up any excess Micro Set.
  3. Once Dry brush area with Micro Sol. Do this several time until transfer is smooth.
  4. Apply Stormshield to all previous areas you brushed with Ardcoat, including Lieutenant helmet.
