A test scheme for a future Drukhari project. The idea is speed!
Basecoat
- Prime in Chaos Black , then Runelord Brass
- Fill in the none-metal sections with Abaddon Black and 1 knee and shoulder pad.
- Paint the gun with a mix of Leadbelcher and Silver RLM01 Metallic . Do the same for any hooks etc.
Shades
- Wash the Brass areas with a thinned Guilliman Flesh (2:1 Contrast Medium ), which you pull towards the recesses.
- Line shade the deepest recesses with Cryptek Armourshade Gloss . I also glaze some of this away from the recess part way up the previous shade.
- Cover the silver metal areas on the gun with Basilicanum Grey .
Armour Highlights
- Glaze some of the Runelord Brass back on the panels.
- Edge highlight with Canoptek Alloy . I also do a small glaze of this, leaving a large amount of the Runelord Brass beneath.
- Dot highlight with Silver RLM01 Metallic . On vehicles, this would also be an appropriate sponge colour to stipple damage.
- On the black shoulder pad/knee, glaze Lupercal Green towards the tops and edges. This should be thin and build transitions from the black. This can be stippled.
- Edge highlight Lupercal Green , then Sons of Horus Green . Dot highlight with Gauss Blaster Green . A glaze of Terradon Turquoise and Contrast Medium ties the colours together.
Gun casing
- I paint the gun with a mix of Abaddon Black and Nuln Oil , then paint chips with Silver RLM01 Metallic .
Eyes, poison pipes, weapon poison etc
- Basecoat White Scar
- Apply a couple of layers of Magenta Fluorescent mixed with Lahmian Medium . Reapply a white highlight dot or strip on pipes etc, then lightly glaze with the Magenta
Cloth etc
- Chunky highlight of Incubi Darkness
- Thin highlight of Thunderhawk Blue
- Dot highlight of Fenrisian Grey
Bones
- Any bones, basecoat Grey Seer
- Shade with Basilicanum Grey
- Highlight Grey Seer
- Highlight White Scar
