This is my take on a Emperor's Children splinter warband, using a homebrewed scheme.
The main colours are copper and burgundy.
General Information:
My general method is to lay down all the base colours for the model, then do all the shading in the recesses before moving on to the highlights.
I don't own an airbrush, so the recipe will mainly consist of brush on paints.
Priming:
I find the metallic sprays from GW tend to be a little on the transparent side, so an initial undercoat of grey helps.
- Prime the model lightly with Mechanicus Standard Grey
- Prime over that with Retributor Armour
Copper (Armour Panels):
- Drybrush over the model with Balthasar Gold
- Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
- Add thinned Incubi Darkness into select lower recesses
- Add a thinned layer of Kabalite Green on top of the Incubi Darkness
- Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Balthasar Gold mixed 1:1 with Stormhost Silver
Burgundy (Armour Trim):
- Base with Barak-Nar Burgundy
- Shade the recesses and around any rivets with Agrax Earthshade
- Highlight the edges with Screamer Pink
- Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Cadian Fleshtone
Silver (Details - Chain, Gun Barrel, Vents):
- Base with Leadbelcher
- Shade the recesses with Nuln Oil
- Add a fine highlight and scratches with Stormhost Silver
Black (Details - Armour Ribbing, Cables, Gun Casing):

- Add a highlight with Eshin Grey
- Highlight fine points and add scratches with Dawnstone
Dirty White (Details - Wraps, Cloth):
- Base with Rakarth Flesh
- Shade all over with Agrax Earthshade
- Layer the middle with Rakarth Flesh
- Highlight the edges with Pallid Wych Flesh
