Inspired by Martin Peterson's interpretation on the back of the Sisters of Battle squad box, I decided to give this scheme a go. I think I was able to replicate it accurately enough.
White Armour
- Basecoat with a 1:1 mix of Celestra Grey and White Scar .
- Do a general "thick" recess shade with a 1:1 mix of Celestra Grey and Dark Reaper .
- Now do a more precise recess ahde with fine lines of pure Dark Reaper .
- Edge highlight all of the armour with a pure white like White Scar or Dead White . Keep this fairly thin so you can go in and do a second selective highlight on points and corners.
Black Vestments
- Basecoat with Abaddon Black .
- Give raised and exposed areas a general highlight with thin Corvus Black . Feel free to keep them scratchy or even stippled, just to add texture.
- Now add chunky highlights of Eshin Grey within the last stage and along edges. Also add smaller highlights of dots or lines within the last stages glazing, to enhance textures.
- Now add fine edge highlights of Dawnstone and continue with the smaller highlights, like in the last stage.
- With Administratum Grey , add very selective highlights to exposed edges, folds and points.
- Finally, mix some White Scar (or another pure white) into the Administratum Grey and add specular highlights to points and areas where light would hit.
Red Vestment Lining
- Basecoat with Khorne Red .
- Mix the Khorne Red 1:1 with Rhinox Hide and glaze shadows into recesses.
- Add an equal amount of Abaddon Black into the above mix and glaze some more precise shading into deeper recesses.
- Take some Evil Sunz Scarlet , thin it a little and glaze raised/exposed areas of cloth. I also like to use this paint to add in some chunky edge highlights.
- Mix the Evil Sunz Scarlet 1:1 with Squig Orange and glaze a smaller area, with thinner edge highligts.
- Now with pure Squig Orange , repeat the step above, getting even more controlled and applying your very finest edge highlights.
- With a mix of equal parts Squig Orange and Screaming Skull , selectively highlight corners and exposed edges.
- Finally mix the Squig Orange 1:2 with Screaming Skull , adding final dot highlights to points and areas that need an extra bit of punch.
Basing
- Prime with Chaos Black and ensure coverage with thin Abaddon Black .
- Heavy drybrush with Sylvaneth Bark .
- Drybrush with Karak Stone .
- Light drybrush with Screaming Skull .
- Paint the base rim with Skavenblight Dinge .
