Airbrushed 11th Lyran guard

Preparation

  1. Remove mould lines and clean up sculpt using abrasive paper P400 and P600
  2. Smooth surfaces with TAMIYA Extra thin cement
  3. Wash in detergent

Metals

  1. Airbrush a basecoat of Mr Hobby Aqueous Black surface preparation 1000 to areas that will be exposed metal
  2. Airbrush sms metallic steel pmt006
  3. Airbrush sms colour shift sunset cn03 onto the cockpit areas
  4. Mask the cockpit class with masking tape cut into tiny shapes with tweezers
  5. Airbrush sms, metallic, silver pmt01 as a highlight on the highest edges
  6. Mask metallic areas

White Armour colours, right hand side of mech

  1. Airbrush undercoat Mr Hobby, Mr Surfacer 1200 over whole mech
  2. Airbrush Intermediate Blue as a layer
  3. Airbrush White Grey into center panel
  4. Airbrush White highlighted on highest panel edges
  5. Mask off edge of blue area with thin strips of masking tape, then block in with bigger and bigger pieces of masking tape

Armour Blue on left side

  1. Airbrush Dark Blue
  2. Airbrush Star Blue + White at top of panel
  3. Remove white masking

panel lining

  1. Airbrush SMS Premium Gloss PL09
  2. Add Decals to taste
  3. Airbrush SMS Premium Gloss PL09
  4. Brush on accents with Dark Grey
  5. add TAMIYA Panel Line Accent color black to the blue armour
  6. Cotton tip lightly damp with enamel thinners
  7. Add Ammo, by Mig Jimenez, PLW, deep grey A.MIG1602 to the white armour
  8. Cotton tip, lightly damp with enamel thinners, gently remove tide marks
  9. Airbrush Flat Clear
  10. Remove masking from metallic areas

Detailing

  1. Brush the Laser barrels Ammo, Mig Jimenez, Steel A.MIG.0191
  2. Ammo, by Mig Jimenez, Enamel wash, Black Wash, A.MIG.1011 on the metal areas
  3. Cotton tip, lightly dampened with enamel thinners, gently rub off tide marks
  4. Brush Deep Yellow onto missile tips
  5. Brush Deep Red onto missile tips
  6. Edge dry brush Ammo, by Mig Jimenez, Oil Brusher white A.MIG-3501 + Marine Blue A.MIG-3527
  7. Wash Black into the eyesockets
  8. Remove the cockpit glass masking
  9. Sprinkle weathering powder AK interactive white ashes
  10. Add pigment fixer
  11. Sprinkle on a little more while the fixer is wet
  12. Add AK Interactive Terrains, Snow Ak8011 to the base
