30K Imperial Fist Elite Unit
A recipe used to paint Rubricae of the Black Legion's Sons of the Cyclops warband - an alternative black to my Black Legion Gold method.
This recipe is based on one of my favourite pieces of Drukhari artwork. Its pretty different to the studio version, but much more to my tastes.
A slightly darker, deeper red cloth than what I normally use for my Black Legion tabards.
Model is from the Don’t Look Back tabletop game by Black Site Studios
Blue/Black armour for a cool-tone effect. Ideal for Deathwatch and other black space marines/knights etc.
The method I used to paint most of my skulls, horns, teeth and claws. High contrast against black, very simple to do.
Here is how I painted my copy of this exclusive miniature from the "Wars of the Samurai" supplement for Pike & Shotte. Such a fantastic sculpt.
Dark black/grey clothing for cloth.
My scheme
This is just here so I can remember how I painted the black sections of my Salamanders' armour. The photos aren't particularly helpful, I'm afraid as they're all quite dark!
UPDATE: I've replaced Dawnstone with Graphite from Scale 75; very similar colour, but not as chalky which makes glazing the volumes easier.

A fairly conventional method I use to paint the weapons of my Salamanders, with bluish highlights to distinguish them from their black armour.
