This is my take on the Children of Torment, a formation of marines dedicated to Slaanesh inside the ranks of the Black Legion.
The main colours are the black and gold of the Black Legion, with some almost random pink panels thrown in.
General Information:
My general method is to lay down all the base colours for the model, then do all the shading in the recesses before moving on to the highlights.
I don't own an airbrush, so the recipe will mainly consist of brush on paints.
Priming:
I find the metallic sprays from GW tend to be a little on the transparent side, so an initial undercoat of grey helps.
- Prime the model lightly with Mechanicus Standard Grey
- Prime over that with Retributor Armour
Gold (Armour Trim):
I generally start with the armour trim so that any time I get paint on another piece its easy to cover later.
- Drybrush the model lightly with Retributor Armour to even coverage
- Shade the recesses with Agrax Earthshade
- Highlight fine points and sharp edges with Stormhost Silver
Pink (Armour Panels - Right Shoulder Pad, 4 other panels):
The concept art had armour panels that were a split pink/black, but with the new kit I chose to do full pink panels.
For a full army/kill team, it might be good to vary which panels are pink to match with the thrown-together nature of the Children of Torment.
- Base with Pink Horror
- Shade the recesses with Reikland Fleshshade
- Highlight the edges with Emperor's Children
- Add fine points with Pallid Wych Flesh
Black (Armour Panels, Weapon Casings):
- Base with Abaddon Black
- Highlight the edges with Eshin Grey
- Highlight fine points with Dawnstone
I added some freehand script/filigree to the Left Shoulder Pad with Retributor Armour to fit the Slaaneshi feel.

Brown (Details - Leather Pouches):
