Very simple Tau scheme
Basic colour scheme for T'au units
This is the way I painted my army for Tau
Gotta go fast! This recipe tries to focus on speed and being achievable while still looking nice. The focus is on creating contrast between the light pale skin, and darker leathers and other materials.
These are the overall simplified steps of colours applied on all miniatures of my main Tau Army (some units may use more colours different from what displayed for highlights and gear)
I couldn't find a decent tutorial for Sa'Cea Tau, in my opinion, the coolest colour scheme since the warm brown of the T'au sept (the white guys GW currently are rocking as the posterchild can go do one... imho)
2 paints are not included in PP's library, these are the Molotow range, they're great, in this scheme I use their colour, petrol as a base, and Liquitex Acrylic inks, I use their Magenta ink for effects. Feel free to sub these for something similar.
Lots of the listed paints are to provide alternatives to out-of-production colours I used, so if anyone wants to follow along, feel free to use those instead (main one being the Electric Blue I use as my drybrush pass on the armour. Any bright, saturated sky blue will do.
The same with whites, greys, blacks and metalics, just use what you have.
I wrote this while painting my test model for the scheme. I will update with pictures and effects as I get to them on different models
Quick and easy, perfect for a wasteland on a dead planet. I use this on my Tyranids to represent a world where they have consumed all the biomass leaving only a dead husk behind.
A pretty much a direct copy of @micheal_kirkbride (Instagram) tan blood angels. Full credit to him.
He uses an airbrush which I do not own so I've modified the colours from air to layer.
Here's how I paint all of the lenses on my T'au!
I use VMC & VGC colors for this, but any set of dark, medium, and light colors should work just as well.
