The recipe for the armours and helmets of the Knights of the Precipice Stormhost.
I recommend using a soft-bristled brush for the drybrushing, while a stiff-bristled one for the stippling.
How I painted my Leagues of Votann Kill Team. I decided to go for the "normal" box art colours, as I've got another predominantly orange scene I want to try shortly.
Quite possibly my favourite of all Rumbleslam miniatures. I love this big dorky boy! I had to go for the traditional nerd colour scheme that all 80's/90's kids are familiar with, especially since the sculpt fitting it perfectly.
I wasn't 100% sure how to approach the skin of my Kroot, but also wanted some variation in skin tone for these boys. So, I decided to just wing it and have a play. Some of these methods may not be the most efficient, but if you wanted to replicate the results, here is what I did...
I wanted to build a retinue of stealthy spooky death-obsessed 'marines, and this is my WIP build of what I have managed to do so far. I was trying to go for a company that maybe spent more time amongst the grave worlds of the Ghoul Stars, purging hostile xenos quickly and quietly, emerging like phantoms from the mist (cue dramatic music). I want them to look weathered and maybe a bit ethereal, without going full legion of the damned, because I'm not cool enough for that.
Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions, this is just a quick dirty guide I made after coming back to the hobby after a +10 year hiatus. I should also note that I have a benign tremor, hence my reliance on drybrushing over edge highlighting.
How I paint the Necrons from the Killteam starter set.
How I paint these elven warriors from GW's Lord of the Rings range.
A nice green cloak that uses purple for the shadow and yellow for the highlight.
Flames of War WW2- Soviet Hero Shock Rifle Company.
It might be lot of work how i'm doing this, but in the end it will look nice and smooth! Model has a lot of contrast.

Newbie-friendly battle ready version of urban(-ish) dark grey scheme for Scout Sentinels (but should work with Armored Sentineld as well). Base colors prone to change as long as WIP tag is present :v
This is just here so I can remember how I painted the black sections of my Salamanders' armour. The photos aren't particularly helpful, I'm afraid as they're all quite dark!
UPDATE: I've replaced Dawnstone with Graphite from Scale 75; very similar colour, but not as chalky which makes glazing the volumes easier.
A slightly tweaked version of this recipe can be found in my Salamanders tutorial here: https://paintpad.app/recipes/2325-salamanders-v0-9
Meant to be a speedpaint method to get kinda pretty lumies.
I hope this works? inspired by Mengel's Miniatures guide on the scarlet doom. It looks like a lot but it should come together quickly as it's primarily contrast paints and washes doing the heavy lifting here.
After a so-so batch of 5 girl heads I decided to try and make the magenta more uniform halfway through.
The orange works but it takes quite a few layers. The magenta flowers were looking to "painterly" bc I was mixing magenta with white by eye. I tried to change that at the end by adding coats of pure magenta and the magenta ink.
I need to have a look around for a pot-ready pale purple. Pot ready pail pink/magenta. And warmer undercoat (ivory of some sort)
My take on the classic Stormcast Vindictor scheme.
This was painted in 3hrs for a timed Competition where it Placed Joint 1st
A quick and simple way to texture your bases in a swamp / toxic waste style
A recipe used to paint Rubricae of the Black Legion's Sons of the Cyclops warband - an alternative black to my Black Legion Gold method.
A quick writeup of how I approach NMM for Imperial Black Armor (worn by Moff Gideon, Death Troopers, etc.).
