A quick and simple way to texture your bases in a swamp / toxic waste style
This is just here so I can remember how I painted the black sections of my Salamanders' armour. The photos aren't particularly helpful, I'm afraid as they're all quite dark!
UPDATE: I've replaced Dawnstone with Graphite from Scale 75; very similar colour, but not as chalky which makes glazing the volumes easier.
A slightly tweaked version of this recipe can be found in my Salamanders tutorial here: https://paintpad.app/recipes/2325-salamanders-v0-9
I hope this works? inspired by Mengel's Miniatures guide on the scarlet doom. It looks like a lot but it should come together quickly as it's primarily contrast paints and washes doing the heavy lifting here.
Meant to be a speedpaint method to get kinda pretty lumies.
After a so-so batch of 5 girl heads I decided to try and make the magenta more uniform halfway through.
The orange works but it takes quite a few layers. The magenta flowers were looking to "painterly" bc I was mixing magenta with white by eye. I tried to change that at the end by adding coats of pure magenta and the magenta ink.
I need to have a look around for a pot-ready pale purple. Pot ready pail pink/magenta. And warmer undercoat (ivory of some sort)
The recipe and methods I use to paint bulk EC models. Recipe is based off regular models (space marine, noise marine, etc) but colours, ratios and general aesthetic works across bigger models.
General rules are:
1. Majority of model is pink
2. Second most colour is black
3. Bronze/Gold for Trims and specific details
4. Grey metallics for basic stuff (chains, studs, etc)
5. Small amount of bright colours to make things pop (greens/yellows/neon reds) on things like eyes, plasma coils, backpack decorations, etc)

A slightly darker, deeper red cloth than what I normally use for my Black Legion tabards.
A quick writeup of how I approach NMM for Imperial Black Armor (worn by Moff Gideon, Death Troopers, etc.).
Note that this may be the same as Duncan Rhodes' desert basing style. I am no longer subscribed to his Painting Academy, and had this written down in my notebook by hand, so cannot check - credit to him if that is this case.
A recipe used to paint Rubricae of the Black Legion's Sons of the Cyclops warband - an alternative black to my Black Legion Gold method.
Here is how I painted the undead skin on my Plaguebearers of Nurgle. This method is a slightly modified version of Mengal Miniatures' "Zombie Rotting Skin" guide.
I wanted to accentuate the extra-galactic, cosmic horror of the Tiamet scheme, by using a monochromatic palete of pale green / turquoise, cold colors.

Step by step on how I painted my Parasite of Mortrex
Here are the steps I took when painting this playing piece from 'Wizkids' version of the board game "Relic". If you like the look of this bust, it is available with the specific edition available here: https://amzn.to/3paDgCQ Please be aware that the 'Fantasy Flight' version has different resin busts/playing pieces.
A note listing the paints the great Richard Grey uses to paint NMM gold.

Based largely on JuanHidalgo Miniatures 'Eavy Contrast video, this is how I painted the main armour and trim colours of this Alpha Legion Chaos Space Marine.
I haven't covered the scale effect on this leg here, for this I would recommend checking out his full video. It really is excellent.
