The steps here have been written so they can be applied to any wood on miniatures, but if you have sculpted woodgrain on your model, consider applying the first two highlights with heavy/light dry brushing, THEN applying any shading and final highlight.

How I painted every wrestler in "The Heavy Pounders" team for Rumbleslam. I stuck quite close to the box art with these boys, but made a few minor changes to make them more to my taste. I hope you like them.
Here is how I painted my Cowboys for Dead Man's Hand. Unlike my gangs so far, I played with much loser rules with their clothing. In my mind, this is a disparate band of ranchers that have banded together, so wouldn't have any kind of uniform. They do however all have brown leather hats, so they are identifiable on the table.
Here is how I painted Oda Nobunaga from the excellent "Daimyos" set from Warlord Games. These miniatures have been designed for the Pike & Shotte gaming system, but could be used in a variety of games.
