Imperial German Cavalry for Return of the Tripods. These are the colors I happen to have on hand and others may work just as well. This scheme uses block colors with no real shading so it has sufficient contrast at a 15mm scale.
A quick guide to painting the Eye of Horus on Chaos Marines.
Hammers of Sigmar style armour
Adapted from JuanHidalgo Miniatures. I opted for cold purple and black tones instead of warm browns like in his tutorial.
A selection of guides detailing the colours I use for various coloured glass. These recipes can be applied to many differences materials and tweaked slightly to fit your style.
Here is how I am approaching painting the Voidsmen-at-Arms from the 'Into the Dark' Kill Team box set. I wanted to stick quite close to the box art, without stressing myself out too much.
Step by step on how I painted my Parasite of Mortrex
The Fire Giant from the Blood Rage board game is an excellent mini for testing lava on the base, a fiery sword, glowing runes on the body and OSL effects. My intention was to trial various different effects on different parts of the mini, so just take your pick of the bits you like.
This tutorial (including painting the whole mini) was first published in full about a year ago in three separate posts on https://boardgamegeek.com/blog/8627/griff-glowens-beginners-painting-blog
I wanted to create a scheme which goes well with my Rusted Claw Neophytes (https://paintpad.app/recipes/15712) but also somewhat resembled the Kill Team Termination brood brothers box art. So I removed the orange from the scheme, and exchanged the blue pants/fatigues from the neophytes to black fatigues.
This recipe will be focused on speed, and theremore you might think some steps are missing, or that some parts of the mini gets less love than others, and that is intentional. If you want to go further with some steps, then you absolutely should!
Prime in Grey Seer.
Quick and easy base perfect for a red planet/Mars theme. Actual paints don't matter too much, as long as they're red and grey, as it's the pigments that do all the work!
My second attempt at painting Chaos Space Marines as the IVth Legion.
I built this model using the Mounted Knights (1150-1320) plastic kit from Wargames Atlantic, exclusively. My aim with this guide is to leave you with a nice playable character from the "Dramatis Personae" section in the back of The Barons' War Second edition book and pay homage to the Footsore Miniatures model also available.
A simple way of painting hazard stripes. I have done it on Chaos Space Marines here, but can be adapted to other factions too.
